Fortine began as a station on the Great Northern Rail line, and is home to a few businesses such as Jerry’s Saloon with tasty grub, good drinks and a 9 Hole Par 3 Golf Course right out the door. Just south of Ant Flat Ranger Station, you will find Trego and the crystal clear Dickey Lake. Initially, the site was part of the Lewis and Clark Forest Reserve, one of the oldest reserves in America. Don’t forget to take in the majestic sights of Murphy Lake and stop into the Ranger Station for more information about the area.
When you’re looking to find a place that has a greater population of Trees, Wildlife and Golf Balls than people, Fortine and Trego are the perfect paradise.
